JOSEPH & SARAH had two daughters: MARY MATILDA POTTS, married WILLIAM F. COURTER ELIZABETH JANE POTTS, married DAVID DELONG. JOSEPH married RACHEL
BURLEW January 23, 1840 in Mechanicsville, Union Twp., Mifflin Co., PA, daughter
of DANIEL BERLIEU and NANCY UNKNOWN. Both Joseph &

MALISSA POTTS death
certificate shows she was born 22 Feb 22, 1850 in Belleville, PA. I believe it is
more likely she was born in 1847/48. She died November 27, 1932 in Galion, Ohio. She
married AUGUSTUS SMITH in Elma, Erie County, NY on 03 July 1865. MALISSA
filed for divorce in Lock Haven, Clinton County, NY. The divorce was final in 1876. Notes for MALISSA POTTS:

JOSEPH A. SMITH was born March 26, 1868, in East Elma, Erie County NY and died
August 25, 1940 in Galion, Crawford County, Ohio. He married CORA LEE HAMMAN
July 14, 1888 in Woodstock, VA, daughter of GEORGE CHRISTOPHER HAMMAN and
CATHERINE FRAVEL.
